Tamoxifen (Nolvadex)

Nolvadex is a non-steroidal drug known for its strong anti-estrogenic effects. It binds to estrogen receptors and effectively blocks the action of estrogen. It is primarily prescribed for certain types of breast cancer in both men and women and as a preventive measure for women with a history of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) who are at increased risk.

Indications

• Treatment of metastatic breast cancer in both sexes, especially beneficial for premenopausal women.

• Often preferred over surgical methods such as oophorectomy or radiation therapy.

• Recommended as adjuvant therapy after surgery in estrogen receptor-positive tumors.

Dosage
